After posting my script, I'd like to share my current ideas for a storyboard. These ideas and this post will feature concept images and art that I have gathered or created.
The film opens by defining time.
"Time... an invisible thread that binds us all, yet slips through our fingers with every passing second. Time is the one constant, always moving forward, unyielding. From the birth of the universe to the farthest reaches of the cosmos, it flows endlessly, touching every star, every planet... and every life."
Here, there will be montage imagery of time passing or natural occurrences.
Example: a timelapse of a flower wilting and or blooming.
When speaking about the birth of the universe, I hope to have Houdini renders of particles - representing atomic creation. This could also be interpreted as artistic renders of outer space and or planets.
Next, the present day is established.
"...But here, for us, it is linear... relentless. We march onward, never pausing, never looking back."
Here, you will see time passing through present day locations.
Although cityscape timelapse videos are beautiful, and I'd like to include them, I may want this end of things to be a bit more stylized. I have thought of a few ideas on how to make these shots match my original cinematographer studies. I think I'd like these shots to look more like this:
Next, the main character and scenario is introduced.
"Yet, what if for just a moment, time itself softened? What if, in a brief flicker, you could step beyond the rules?"
This scene opens with an ordinary man sitting on his couch or chair in his living room. He is occupied by an every day activity such as reading a book, or using his cell phone. When the narrator eventually prompts the scenario, the man changes his focus, and turns his head dramatically. He can feel that something is off, almost supernatural, but he can't quite put his finger on it. The man, confused yet curious, walks causiously through his livingroom, which is experiencing dimensional anomolies. Eventually, he approaches an interdimensional portal through his wall.

As he rest of the narration continues, the man enters the portal, walking on seemingly nothing (no floor - yet there is contact with something invisible). He eventually finds a small human figure, but can't make out who or what it is at first. As he gets closer, it is revealed that it is his younger self. He kneels down to reach eye level with his younger self.
This is eventually cut off abruptly, and this man's story is cut to a cliff hanger, or open ended finish just as the narrator speaks "...what would you say?"
At this point, there will be a very fast cut montage of closeups on different actors' faces. These actors will come from different backgrounds, further solidifying that the film is not just about the man shown before. It's about YOU, or anybody! It's just meant to be impactful and make you think. Having people of different backgrounds will help divurse audiences see themselves in the chaacter and help them create a connection between themselves and who they se on screen.
The main song I have taken inspiration from is “Life” by Marc Streitenfeld.
