Class 8 - Misc

While waiting on background renders for Riders, I helped Andrea start some IBK keying processes for her senior film. For this shot, I keyed out the character and blended her with the background shot by Andrea at another time/location. She shot the background plate handheld, and the character on a tripod (though, there was a tiny bit of camera movement on the greenscreen footage). To match the movement, I stabilized the background footage, and connected it to a subtle match-move node parented to a tracker - tracking the movement of one of this character's zipper teeth on her jacket.

After color matching and re-grain on the character, I added these god rays in front of her. This helped blend her with the environment, but also amplified the story of the film. The film is a spiritual/religious exploration of loss and grief. Originally an idea to help blend the foreground with the background, Andrea and professor Pasquale approved of this and specified that this asset helps communicate the mood of the story.
In addition to this work for Andrea, I worked heavily on finalizing shot 12 of The Space messenger. However, at the moment, I am having read issues in Nuke. I will upload my progress to shot 12 once I fix the issue. Hopefully, this will be soon.
